Use of Aromatherapy Scents Can be Good for Your Mental
Health
Many herbalists and practictioners of alternative remedies consider the use of aromatherapy as
beneficial for those suffering from physical conditions. And they also believe that Aromotherapy can be used to relieve stress and other mental health
ailments too. And what they do is extract the scented oils from the various plants, herbs and trees to get the
aromatherapy products to penetrate your body and mind to offer relief, relaxation and other healthful benefits
that can last a long time.
However, I do have to caution that you DO NOT consider the use of aromotherapy as the only or primary
treatment for your conditions if they are more than a minor issue. You still should follow the treatments
prescribed by your medical doctor or your specialist in the mental health field! However, aromatherapy can be used
as a supplementary treatment because it can be very effective for you..jpg)
There are two popular aromatherapy ingredients that you can try right off the bat because they are something you
can find in your kitchen. The first of course is Cinnamon and the other is the Orange. These two ingredients can
help give your energy levels a boost as well as perk-up your mood. For example, the next time you chew on some
Cinnamon gum... or eat an Orange, Lemon or Tangerine... see if you can notice if these tend to perk you up a bit.
It is no wonder why these two items are used a lot in Aromatherapy and besides... like I said before, aromatherapy
tends to give a longer lasting beneficial result.\
Two more aromatherapy choices are Jasmine and Bergamot. They are suggested to give you a lift when you are in a
gloomy mood. What these two scents do is minimize the anxious feelings that you are having that is crowding your
mind and thoughts. As you can guess, allowing these "bad" thoughts dominate you can make you more depressed.
So it stands to reasons that you should give these two scents a try if you are looking for something to calm
your body and mind. Something that can relax the state of your mind and may alleviate or eliminate the depressions
and anxiety feelings that you are having.
You could even try a combination of the four scents I have mentioned so far to see if they give you better
results. After all, everyone is different and everyone has different points.
Another scents that you may want to try is Chamomile and Ylang Ylang... these are also stress-busting scents
that can be used in aromatherapy. For anyone that works or spends a lot of time in a daily stressful
environment... these two scents can prove to be helpful and effective for you. What you can do is keep these
scents at hand whenever you need to quickly alleviate your stress levels.
But what about the times you feel "blah" and need a quick fix-me-up to improve your productivity at home or
work? Well, you could try the Neroli or Nutmeg scents that have been shown to also reduce stress and increase
activities or productivity.
But what about those who suffer from insomnia? I have some great news for you! There are 3 scents that can be
used to help those who have trouble sleeping. Because let's face it... whenever we don't get enough sleep or don't
sleep well the previous night... we tend to be irritible or grumpy. And if we continue to have trouble sleeping...
it can lead to more serious long term and physical health issues. Try one or more of these scents to help sedate
and put you back in the mood for peaceful slumber.
Because a good night sleep can be so wonderful!
Here's what I suggest that you do... try one or more of these scents that I mentioned in this article for the
use of Aromatherapy. You could even try a combination of them too...
but be sure to write down in a small notebook how your body and mind is affected by these scents. And you can
try them at your home or even in the office if you can do it. There are also some aromotherapy products that you
can try that were designed for your car. Many folks spend a lot of time commuting and driving can be very
stressful in busy highways.
I wish you the best of luck,
Kate
