Overcoming Social Phobia to Get Your Normal Life Back
You probably remember like I do... those embarrassing moments when you were left out? For instance... being the
last kid selected for kickball... or the last one standing at the local high school dance... these events makes us
feel like vanishing into thin air.
And for some of us... these events can be so traumatic that we would do anything to avoid the pain of rejection
again. And those that suffer from social phobia... it is far worst because they are more likely to
stop all contacts with close friends and family because of the fear of being rejected again. You see, those with
social anxiety disorders are so afraid of being judged by others... most of the time this fear is
irrational.
And as I will explain, the very act of avoiding others will make your social fears come true!
The fear of being judged... being watched... being scrutinized... can make it so difficult for those with social
phobia to do ordinary things... such as going to work or going to class.
But what the worst thing about social phobia is the very fact that most sufferers are embarrassed about their
condition. They don't want to tell anyone about it. And they won't seek help for it either.
So they make excuses why they can't come to an event... they are sick (which may be true because the fear of
going triggers symptoms that makes you feel ill.)
And really, you KNOW that you have a problem... and that your fears aren't realistic... sure, there are some
butt heads out there that like to put others down... but by and large... most people are just too busy or they have
manners... and they are willing to accept you for what you are.
But the fact of the matter is this... 15 million adults in the United States alone suffer from social anxiety
disorders. This is the known... and because many sufferers won't seek help to diagnose their problem... the
actually number is much higher.

Here is another fact about social phobia... it affects equal number of men and women. And for
the men... it may seem unmanly to seek help. So I'm betting that there are more untreated cases of men who have
this condition and they suffer from it needlessly... just because of their beliefs!
And sure... some sufferers turn to illegal drugs or alcohol to "forget" about their fears.
But my point is this... all this avoiding of the pain and symptoms doesn't have to happen! I urge you to seek
help from your family doctor.
Other ways that social phobia can affect you life is that it makes it harder and harder for some people to
continue going to work. And then they get fired. And then they have to find another job and just showing up for job
interviews can be painful and uncomfortable for them. So they stop doing that too...
And it just leads to a vicious downward spiral. So you can avoid this by overcoming social phobia by seeing your
doctor and seeking help for your condition.
It is curable! Your doctor may suggest prescription medication or therapy. But I recommend that you check out
Panic Away by Barry Joe McDonagh for overcoming social phobia... it has helped 1000s and 1000s of former sufferers
overcome their anxieties to lead a normal life again.
In fact, if you go to Joe's site... you will see tons of testimonials from all these people that are just
grateful for getting their life back.
This can be you too! You don't need to keep taking medications or therapy... it is possible to overcome social
phobia and other anxiety disorders quickly and best of all... permanently!!

Good luck and I hope you get the help you need,
Kate :)
