How to Use Your Headaches Symptoms to Determine the Type of
Headache
Truth be told... everyone gets a headache at one time or another. But did you know your headaches symptoms can
be used to determine the type of headache that you have? And knowing how to understand your headaches symptoms is pretty important when it comes to seeking help
to relieve it.
The first type of headache I'm going to talk about is the dreaded sinus headaches. This type of
headache can be very painful... but NOT life threatening!! And yes, sinus headaches will make you feel awful but
you CAN treat them.
However, if you have congestion for more than seven days... or have a thick, green mucus... I really recommend
that you seek help from your doctor. He may want to get you started on stronger medication with a prescription.
The 2nd type of headache that I want to talk about is the muscle tension headaches. This type
of headache can be described as when you feel pain around your head or in your neck. The bad thing about this type
of headache is that it can linger for days... if you don't treat the underlying tension of muscle that is causing
it.
And for this type of headache, you can treat it with over-the-counter-medication that will relax your muscle.
You may need to use a more powerful medicine that you can get from your doctor's prescription. However, you CAN be
proactive and take some stretching or yoga classes to help relax your muscle.
The 3rd type of headache that you should be aware of is the one where you can feel pain on one side of your
head. It is a pounding and fast headache that is really severe. It is the migraine headaches. You may also experience nausea and sensitivity
to light and sound. So if you are vomiting and your vision is off while you have a pounding headache... it might
be a migraine headache.
Like I said, it is very painful and the headaches symptoms can scare you. For some of us... it can be so bad to
disrupt our daily lives. And many of us at one time or another had to call in sick from work. But I want you to
understand that this type of headache is extremely treatable. See your doctor for diagnosis and treatment.
The last type of headache that I want to bring to your attention is the chronic headaches. It
can be painful but it doesn't come with the host of other headaches symptoms that the other types of headaches
have. So if you cannot figure out what you have... then it could be possible you have this type of headache. The
best thing to do of course is visit your doctor to have additional tests performed to rule out injuries or diseases
that can be causing your headaches.
All in all... the main purpose of relieving your headaches symptoms is to get your normal life back so that you
can enjoy the high quality of living and performing your daily activities again.
Good luck and be well,
Kate :)
