The Cleveland Cavalier NBA guard Delonte West Admits Trouble With Mood and
Depression
I just wanted to mention this bit of news to let you know that you are not the only one out there. Even though
Delonte's problem is with depression and mood changes... it could be associated with anxiety attacks but
still...
And the thing about it is this... nobody really knew he had a problem... in fact, he was embarrassed to seek
help sooner until he went off at a high school referee that was calling a intra-squad ball game. At that point...
Delonte knew he needed help... he said that he has been battling this mood disorder for most of his
life..jpg)
According to a study, 9.5% of the adult population suffers from some form of depression!
I remember some reporters interviewing an ex-teamate when Delonte used to play for the Boston Celtics... even
THEY didn't know he had a problem...
So just because you are well known and make good money... don't mean you are immune to panic attacks, anxiety
attacks and depression.
As Mr. West said, "In a sense, you feel like a weaker man because you have to raise your hand and ask for
help, but I found out over the last week that that made me a stronger person."
Get better Delonte... we are all rooting for your full recovery and continued
success on the basketball court.
