Make Your Stress Evaporate with Some Stress Relaxation tips. Part Two.

In the previous post I talked about seeking psychotherapy help. Today I will suggest other stress relaxation tips.

The next stress relaxation tip that you can try is hypnosis. And don’t just disregard this… experienced hypnotists can show you some relaxation techniques that work very well. And the best part about it is you can do them yourself. And self-hypnosis in my opinion has gotten a pretty raw deal. Many folks seems to think that all of a sudden you will start quacking like a duck or howling at the moon. The truth of the matter is that these relaxation techniques are used by medical professionals for themselves to help manage stress and pain. And normally, you will only need a few sessions to get the hang of what you need to know to do this on your your own whenever you want.

Don’t knock it, but my next suggestion would be YOGA! There are literally 1000s of Yoga studios everywhere. So why not take a few classes to learn the basic Yoga movements? You see, this ancient technique involves the mind and body by stretching, relaxing and developing more flexible muscles.

Here’s a hot tip. Most of us procrastinate… so to avoid that, I suggest that you prepay for a couple of classes each week so you HAVE to go! For me, I hate to waste money more than anything else in the world so this tip works very well for me because many days I don’t really want to leave the house. (LOL!)

And you don’t have to take any Yoga classes if you don’t want to. There are a lot of DVDs and books so you can follow the moves in the privacy of your own home.

If you have a creative flair… or not! You could try some art or photography. It really doesn’t matter whether you know what you are doing… as long as you enjoy learning and trying… that makes all the difference in the world. So forget trying to please others… just start painting on your canvas or snapping some shots with your camera. You can go outdoors like your nearby park, city garden or solarium to practice your craft.

But don’t be all fussy about your hobby. Pick a hobby that is something that you will truly enjoy. The time you focus on your hobby and trying to improve your results with creativity and especially… relaxing.

Here is another idea, why not try Psycho-Cybernetics by Dr. Maltz? And no, it isn’t some creepy cult. This book was written a long time ago by the author, who is now deceased. And so many successful people refer to this book for a reason. I love it because the concepts in the book works very well for me. You can pick up the New Psycho-Cybernetics Make Your Stress Evaporate with Some Stress Relaxation tips. Part Two. at Amazon.com for a pretty good deal.

My final suggestion is to act like a kid! :)

You could go to the park and take a moment on the swing. Or draw on the driveway with colored crayons. How about watching some funny movies in your pajamas well into the afternoons? I like watching “I Love Lucy” and other oldies… They are just simply delightful.

So find something to do that is carefree and just plain old fun for you! This works very well to reduce your stress levels and don’t forget to try out some relaxation techniques that I mentioned above. To be frank with you, I don’t know why we have to “teach” ourselves to relax. We sure weren’t born stressed…

Oh well, I will probably have to talk about this another day.

Until then, I’ll talk to you later,

Kate :)

P.S. I recommend the hour long Totally Tranquil meditation track by Holothink that you can download immediately and burn it on a CD or even copy it to your IPOD and use it whenever and wherever you find a need to get instant stress relief.

You can sign up at the link above for a FREE 10 minute demo to refresh your mental state and feel re-energized and focused by the end of the track.

Your suggestions for reducing stress are really nice. With hypnosis, the problem is, one cannot find an expert everywhere. Yoga is the best solution indeed. And acting like a child, in my solution is the most uniques suggestion one has ever given.

I agree! I don’t know either why we find it so “stressful” to relax. Yoga is very effective, although I have my doubts on hypnosis. I mean, do we need to go thru such extremes? Maybe for some. I’ve heard about the Psycho-Cybernetics book, in fact, my friend swears by it. I should probably read it too and see what the fuss is about. Anyway, great article!

The tips look very helpful. I think yoga is the best way, but I’m not sure if hypnosis really works.

Marijuana is the ultimate de-stresser. If you live in a state where it is legal, you should do some research. I have insomnia, bipolar, and ADD and it has helped me with those disorders more than anything I’ve ever used (and believe me, I’ve been through them all). As for yoga, I have several friends who do yoga religiously and swear by it. It’s a great way to relax your mind and your body together (not to mention become flexible once more!). Good luck with your self-discovery!

Hi Trea! Gee I don’t know too much about that! I don’t recommend illegal substances for anything, but I have heard some folks swear by the medicinal properties of Marijuana. So, for anyone reading this post… do NOT tell the cops that you got the idea to use Marijuana from my blog! LOL!
