Uncommon Phobias List (eleven to fifteen)

This is my third installment of the next five uncommon phobias… and like I said in the very first post… just because the phobia is uncommon doesn’t mean it is a punch line.

Sufferers of these rare and unusual phobias actually feel the terror and fears… so please don’t dismiss them.

I truly hope if you are suffering from any of these phobias… that you seek out help… real help because when you do… you are ON the road to recovery!

But I suggest that you start with your family doctor to rule out the more serious conditions that may have similar symptoms as panic attacks, anxiety disorders or phobias do.

Then you may want to check out the Panic Away program and find out when it is all about… and you can find out a little more about it on my home page.

So to continue… the uncommon phobias list from 11 to 15:

  1. Automatonophobia is the fear of humanoid figures. It can be a fear of wax figures, humanoid robots or any other figure that was designed to represent human beings.
  2. Peladophobia is the fear of bald people. This is a difficult phobia to avoid because there are lots of bald men everywhere in life… at the church… at the grocery store… or even at work.
  3. Ablutophobia is the fear of bathing, washing or cleaning. It is a specific phobia that is common with children and women… especially with emotional people.
  4. Decidophobia is the fear of making a decision. And this is really tough… especially in today’s world where we are constantly making choices and decisions.
  5. Phagophobia is the fear of swallowing. This term used to be called the choking phobia. Which is two different things so Phagophobia became it’s own phobia. The sufferers of this specific phobia may have an obsessive need for a glass of water while eating. And may get angry if they are deprived of water while eating.

This is the 3rd batch of uncommon phobias… I will have some more of these specific phobias in later posts…

until then, be well,

Kate :)

for this you will die a horrible death...
