Arachnophobia Sufferers Dread the Autumn…

It is that time of the year again when the spiders all come out and spin their webs to catch the insects.

I noticed that I was getting more spiders a couple of weeks ago in my backyard. I’m not certain why exactly the spiders seem to come out of the woodwork around autumn… especially when the summer was consistently warm with very few cold snaps.

But it does create a BIG problem for those who suffer from arachnophobia

Did you know that the fear of spiders is probably one of the most common phobias people have? It is true… and that fear of spiders can cause a debilitating anxiety attacks which can completely dominate the sufferer’s daily life.

And most of time when someone suffers from a phobia… they try to organize their entire life of avoiding the irrational fear of spiders. Which means of course they rarely go outside to enjoy the sights and smells of harvest autumn…

It is really sad.

And what is really weird about the body’s reaction to the phobia is this… anxiety attacks is the body believing that it is a fight or flight episode… and the body exhibits the symptoms…

Sufferers feel like they are going to die… they can have a racing heart rate… they can have shortness of breath… they can have sheer panic… over a spider.

It is no laughing matter!

But the thing you have to realize once everything has been ruled out by your family doctor… that anxiety attacks and panic attacks are truly not dangerous.

The good news however is that arachnophobia is treatable… you can try hypnosis… or you can try Panic Away program by Barry Joe McDonagh. This program is effective for anxiety attacks, panic attacks, agoraphobia and GAD.
