Guide to Panic Attacks It’s Real and It’s Happening – No Doubt About It. Part 1

Here is what a typical day is like for the Panic Attacks suffers… it may be a nice and warm day, everything is going along swimmingly until all of a sudden you get slammed with a panic attack! And the thing of this is there are no monsters waiting to eat you up, there are no impending natural disasters that is waiting to wipe your car off the road and you are not having a instant terminal condition. And yet, you FEEL like your whole world is crashing down on you and are totally terrified and unable to stop it.

And literally, you can fee your own heart beating and thumping against your chest. Your hands are shaking and sweaty. Your grip on the steering wheel is weak. And your head feels like everything is coming in waves. So you pull your car over to the side of the road because you feel that you are going to pass out and hurt yourself badly.

This could have happened to you when you were at work or even doing your errands around the town such as grocery shopping. And you are feeling all these symptoms and start to clutch your heart. Many times a good Samaritan will notice you are having difficulties and rush to your aid.

Also, someone probably called 911 and you will hear the sirens from the ambulance coming toward your location to pick you up. When you get to the emergency room, you will be surrounded by heart monitors and defibrillators just in case you are really having a heart attack.

And that would be because you are exhibiting all the symptoms of a heart attack. And some medical personnels may be fooled because you just look like a heart attack that is just about to happen.

But after the medical experts perform the tests on you and realize that what really happened to you was that you were suffering from a panic attack. And as you hear this diagnosis, this whole event took an hour or two but to you it lasted an eternity, or forever it seems. And as you leave the hospital emergency room parking lot, you are totally embarrassed and exhausted by the experience.

I’ll continue this post in my next one for Part 2. In the meantime, if you want to get more information how to permanently cure yourself from the panic attacks, I suggest that you check into Panic Away by Barry Joe McDonagh. His book has helped so many folks (just like you) to recover and get their normal lives back.

Check back soon and be sure to leave a comment if panic attacks like this happened to you too,

Kate :)

Very informative. What most people do not realize is, a panic attack can be as incapacitating as the next illness. It’s real and not just a figment of the sufferer’s imagination, and thus, not to be taken lightly.

Thank you for this very informative article. My 15 yr old daughter suffers a great deal from panic disorder and is currently on medication for it. The first time (and the second, even the third) was frightening, and the trips to the hospital were as well. Your article explained a bit about what she was going through. I will look for your next article concerning this subject.
    Again, thank you.

Historically, panic attacks have been an under-represented illness that many people suffer from. I think that today, with current recession and many people losing their jobs, people should be paying much more attention to the seriousness of this phenomenon. In my situation, I’ve already seen a couple of actual cases from people who were laid off work.

    Sherrib,

I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter! However, I just know that you are taking care of her and she will overcome her panic attacks. For many sufferers, they needlessly continue their pain by keeping silent and not seeking help. And this is so unfortunate. But I’m really glad to hear that your daughter has a super great Mom!!!

    Hi Jamie Lee,

I’m sure about that! And this lousy economy isn’t help at all. And the thing of it is, once you learn how to control your fear of panic attacks, it WILL go away.
