Is Quinoa the Magic Grain for Better Health?

I try to talk about a variety of healthy ways that my readers can try in this blog…

And I recently discovered this “pseudo grain” by the name of Quinoa (pronounced KEEN-Wah).

Some of you may have heard of it already or even tried it or even eat it all the time…

But boy, I wish I knew about it years ago! That’s for sure!

I’ll tell you why… you see Quinoa is full of healthy fats, complex carbs and complete proteins. It is terrific for vegetarians who have limited protein sources…

Not only that… Quinoa isn’t really a grain… it isn’t a wheat… so it is gluten-free which means it is a great idea for an alternative food for those who are allergic to gluten.

And here’s the thing… Quinoa is easy to cook. Just cook it like rice… and boy, it is extremely versatile… you can add veggies to it… spices… sauces… eat with your favorite meats.

Pretty much the sky’s the limit here! icon smile Is Quinoa the Magic Grain for Better Health?

Anyway, I just wanted to let me readers know about this important food source. It can be a little pricey if you get it at the food bins at the more upscale grocery stores. However, I stopped by Costco over the weekend and found that they were selling 4 pound bags of Organic Quinoa for only $10.99!

A pretty good bargain I say! So I grabbed a few bags and since the bags are air sealed… I know they can last for a good long time.

I like to eat Quinoa several times a week. If you eat them plain… it has a slight nutty taste to it. I like it.

And I almost forgot the BEST part about Quinoa! It doesn’t spike your blood sugar like grains, rice or corn does!

It is terrific for those who are trying to lose weight… It might be a good choice for Diabetes… but talk to your doctor first… of course!

I’ll talk to you later,
