What are Cluster Headaches and How Can I Seek Cluster Headaches Treatment?
First of all… cluster headaches is a relatively common term… however, when asked, many folks don’t even know what exactly cluster headaches are! But this is what I CAN tell you… those who suffer from these kinds of headaches experience some of the most painful headaches you can get. It is that terrible! Also… men are more likely to get this type of headache… but women can still get them.
So let me tell you a little more about cluster headaches… the pain is sudden and can come to you fast. And usually, the pain happens around the area of your eye. Your eyes and nose can become irritated and very red. It wouldn’t be surprising if your eyes were watery and your nose started to run.
If there was any good news… it would be that most cluster headaches generally last about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. And this is how this kind of headache got it’s name… that headache could appear at the same time for several days to even a month. The medical field calls it a cluster period. And they also call the period when you are relatively pain free — remission.
In any event, cluster headaches are terrible to have because they hurt so much. And the chronic nature of this headache can cause stress… which leads to depression.
If you find yourself suffering from this type of headache… you should immediately see a qualified professional for help. It can be serious and only they can help diagnose your problem and recommend solutions for relief.
From my research… I find that cluster headaches treatment can be anywhere from prescription medication to other lifestyle choices.
But prescription medication can help you control your problem… becasue truth be known… the causes of cluster headaches are not quite certain. But it is suspected that it may be a reaction to other medications… smoking… and even sleeping problems.
Again, I strongly suggest that you make an appointment to see your doctor if you are suffering from cluster headaches. It isn’t something you want to put to chance… you should have them rule out more serious causes before deciding on a plan of action to free yourself from the frequency and duration of the headaches.
To sum it up… see your doctor! Get into a regular exercise and eating routine… Sleep better… if you smoke… stop. If you drink a lot… stop. After following these suggestion from your doctor… you may find that your symptoms will become shorter and less frequent…
I wish you well,
Kate
