Veteran Police Officer Loses Job because of Anxiety Attacks
I read an interesting and sad article over the weekend about a veteran city police officer that pleaded guilty to falsely making and receiving overtime payments in Massachusetts.
She was on the job for 32 years and should have known better. But she did express remorse for her actions and confessed right away after being confronted by investigators.
Some people may be wondering why a fine police officer with an unblemished career would do something like this… well, as it turned out, she had unresolved grief from a death in the family, and it snowballed into depression and serious anxiety attacks.
I know that is no excuse for what she did, but what she could have done was try to seek ways to relieve or end her anxieties such as using the Panic Away program by Barry Joe McDonagh.
But as a result of her conviction, she will lose her job and pension. But she won’t have to go to jail… just a 2 year probation…
I hope she can find the help she needs and get back on her feet again. I know it is going to be hard… but she can do it.
I can’t be wonder if the reason why she let everything get so out of hand is because she was too embarrassed to seek help for her anxiety attacks. You see, this reason alone is probably the reason why the average sufferer of anxiety and panic attacks go through this condition for so long.
But as soon as they seek the right help, they are on the road to recovery. If you are looking for somewhere to start, I urge you to check out the Panic Away program because it is by far, a successful program that has ended anxiety disorders for 1000s and 1000s of people.
warmly,
Kate
